Chinese boy"s eyes "glow in the dark"

A boy in China has been lauded as the only person in the world whose eyes can glow in the dark.

Primary school pupil Nong Youhui, from Dahua, southern China, was always able to see brilliantly, even in poor light conditions, after being born with blue eyes as a baby, even though Chinese people generally have brown eyes, the Global Grind reported.

Although his parents believed his eyes would eventually change colour, this was not the case, and his father took him to a nearby hospital to have him assessed by a vision expert.

"They told me he would grow out of it and that his eyes would stop glowing and turn black like most Chinese people but they never did," his father told the news provider.

Instead, experts conducted tests which revealed that Youhui's eyes glow in the dark, enabling him to read even when there is not light.

It is believed he is the only person in the world with this ability, which eye experts say he is likely to retain for life.
